Lemon has some lightening effect on freckles, but it is wiser to get a product from a reputable brand that contains lightening ingredients as lemon juice is VERY acidic.

Diluted lemon juice is used by some women as a toner for oily skin. My pharmacist is against that as lemons are highly acidic and can cause an acid burn if you are not careful. Lemon juice is pH2 (sulphuric acid is pH1)
